It's a key position in the team, as long sas we took a decent lead I suspect it was always the plan to give Stephens an hour and then give Kayal some time. He did look rusty, but it will come with time and this was the perfect game to get him more mins

In fact it is exactly the opposite to last season when Sidwell looked completely off the pace and Kayal was imperious. All about game time, we are very lucky to have such quality in midfield.
