I think you misunderstand what the word Ghetto means, My understanding being an area where one racial group live.

Whilst there may be some areas that are predominantly "non white", the "non white" population are more mixed than you think.

There is a corner shop behind my back fence. If you didn't go in there all the time you wouldn't realise that the four employees come from 3 different countries with at least 3 religions represented.

I always thought the meaning of the word had broadened since that definition into something more akin to the sink estates of Paris (areas of high crime) but happy to be corrected!

we have a term to describe sink estates: sink estates. why use a evocative term that means something else? estates aren't a single ethnicity (even if one dominates in some) and the other distinction, in London at least, is that the next street along from the sink estate could be affluent middle class terraces and townhouses. we dont really have the ghetto as defined elsewhere.
