But you have not seen the side play live and yet you are saying our upturn is all down to changing the keeper, which is not the case at all.

The defence has been sorted out, which has been a major factor in the improvement, but this has mainly been down to 2 full backs who can actually defend.

Also the fact that we have pacey wingers and can pack the midfield as the wingers can support a lone front man has been a fact in our improvement.

However the change of keeper has not been. Neither keeper we have is that great and to be honest if they were both released it would not be the end of the world, if the team is looking at promotion next season.

Still carry on telling us how it is from afar.

Buck how does seeing live make any difference.... if anything it gives me longer to consider things as I can stop rewind and watch again. From the many games I did go to when I was in the UK I know that in live games we miss loads of things because it goes too fast or some idiot is distracting us.

Funnily enough I agree with you to a point. The defence is much better because of the better full backs but I still believe and agree with many people who HAVE seen the game live (if you persist with this discrimination) that Brezovans height and ability to take crosses has made a huge difference.

Agreed the full back issue also got sorted but if you think the change of keeper made no difference you must be a BIG Kuipers fan. OK, Brezovan does drop the occasional clanger but he comes off his line for the ball and that seems to have given the whole back 4 an extra confidence they didn't have with Kuipers behind them.

Where did I state I was a Kuipers fan?

I actually said I would get rid fo the 2 of them in the summer.

Fair enough - just that the only people I have spoken to who think Brezovan has made no difference tend to be big Kuipers fans. Despite the improvement I would agree that we need a better keeper than either of them if we want to progress.

He definitely is Championship and Premier League quality. Would be a fantastic signing if it did happen, but I can see him actually going to Newcastle.

Won't happen and in any case I'd prefer Poyet to bring in a keeper with lots of experience to compete with Brezovan as sure he'll be offered a new contract.

I'm still not convinced by Schmeichel.

He was easily the weakest of the keepers when he was at Man City (Joe Hart was miles better), and while he's apparently had a decent season with County, frankly so he should do, with his Premier League background and family pedigree.

I still think he's erratic, not great at dominating the six yard box, and has been made to look better than he is this season by all the Noddy fourth division strikers he's faced.

Because you can get an appreciation of the shape of the side, the off-the-ball running and general positional play, the organisation at opposition set-pieces, the organisation at our set pieces, the way the keeper communicates with his back four (especially at Withdean where there isn't much in the way of crowd noise!), the way the back four respond to the keeper's calling and general positional play, in fact ANYTHING that happens away from what the camera sees as it religiously follows the ball.

Inclined to agree. Makes some nice saves, but not dominant enough. And he wouldn't stand out if he wasn't called Schmeichel.
