Couldn't they? Or did they just not have the budget for it?

Maybe there wasn't a 5m striker out there, but they had 5m in the budget, and 5m from the sale of Dunk would allow them to stretch to a more expensive one.

I said to my mate the time, no penalty. Having seen the highlights I still say the same, Dunk got to the ball firsts and the mk player went down as the ball ricocheted off of him and into touch, should've been a goal kick.

I was in line with the decision (all be it in WSU) and this was exactly how i saw it.

The TV view is deceptive I think in this case (it foreshortens gap between Dunk and the MK player) although even the TV view shows that Dunk gets there first.

Either way - I don't think its clearly a penalty and therefore Robinson's rant is over the top. I guess he is under pressure and worried about his job.

Also consider that the linesman had an excellent view and didn't give it - usually they are keen to get involved in decisions if they can.

Baldock will probably be out for a while and it will be interesting to see how we cope without him. If Lua Lua is close then we may be able to move him to the wing and play Murphy in the Baldock role. Murphy scored plenty at Sheffield and it would be a partial test of your theory.

If the officials had done their job correctly MK might well have snatched an undeserved point. We cannot keep missing these chances. It's both Hemed and Baldock now. Hughton knows we need a real finisher. I know we are going well but where would we be with a real goal scorer. I hope they find their form between now and January.

Now he is. Back when we were getting offers for him, Dunk played one game then sat on the bench while Stockdale, Bruno, Greer, Huenemeier and Bong were the back five keeping clean sheets and building the foundation for our early season success. So it wouldn't have been breaking up the defence.

Incidentally, of the three, Dunk is the only one with whom we win fewer points when he plays (2ppg) than when he doesn't (2.33ppg).

I didn't say anything of that ilk. You read into my post something that wasn't there.

Apart from being man of the match against Forest which started the run...
and a PPG metric is fine but he's not there to put the goals in the other end is he... (except last season when he did that as well)
but to put it another way since Greer was injured in the first half against Leeds then the Dunk/Uwe partnership has
played 5 and half matches, all unbeaten, and the defence has conceded a mere 3 goals, 2 clean sheets (and the clean sheet of a half against Leeds).

If the rumours that we have bid in excess of £6 or 7 million for Calleri are true then it would suggest the money is there for the right target and that is without the sale of Dunk.
