While I clearly don't know the ins and outs of the case i thought it a little strange that they have both got the same amount of jail term. The trail painted a picture of Karen Matthews dominating Michael Donovan into doing her bidding and I though the fact that she was her mother might have meant that she would have got more time. I suppose that Donovan did the actual kidnapping bit, so perhaps that has evened it out.
