I have asked this question on here before, but never had it properly answered.

I want to use these sites, and watch football on the net. I have done on only a few occasions, because I don't really know where I stand with it.
I mean is it illegal for me to watch? Will I get into shit for watching too much of it? Or should I just shut up, stop asking questions and watch the football?

It is illegal for coverage to be streamed online by people who don't have the intellectual property rights.

You won't get into trouble for watching it though. Authorities are chasing the sites, not the viewers.
