Justice for the 96

We all agree that Hillborough was a terrible tragedy. But all this call for 'justice' really does baffle me.

Not once during this week of rememberance does anyone mention the thousands of pissed up scousers without tickets attempting to barge they way into the Leppings Lane end of the ground 10 minutes before kick-off.

If the police had not opened the gates into the ground people would have been killed outside.

The Liverpool fans have blood on their hands and they know it so are trying to deflect the blame onto the police. End of.

f*** off you total wanker. My uncle was there that day and if you say what you have just said to him he would be absolutely mortified.

Read up on the events of the day and you will find your views are completely arrogant and this is you way of being anti-Liverpool even in a time when they are morning the loss of 96 MEN, WOMEN and CHILDREN!.

Its a fact.

Have you seent he footage of outside the ground at all with the boys being lifted above everyones heads to avoid being crushed?

What a prick:laugh:

So you think that letting near on double the amount of people than the capacity in a stadium is right?
Its a fact that in an enclosed space it would cause more danger than it would do in a relatively open space

What does your Uncle say about the ticketless fans rushing the gates to try to get in without a ticket. The police had little option but to open the gates to the ground. The only mistake the police made was to not shepherd the ticketless fans into the side pens.

Liverpool 'fans' also stormed the Champions League final in Istanbul a few years back. Thousands of ticketless fans smashed though the gates outside the ground and only by locking out real fans with tickets did the police avoid another disaster.

There is some creedance to what PS is saying but the post is intended to get people's backs up on a very sensitive issue.

I think Pork Sword is making some relevant points, but really overegging their significance. On balance, the issues he raises played a minor part, but are completely secondary compared to the main factors (such as the failure to shepherd fans into side pens, police mistrust of fans etc, poor decision-making) that led to 96 fans losing their lives.

The crush outside could have stopped by simply delaying the game.

Even the police knew what to do, but the cretin in charge that day decided to ignore the advice of his fellow officers.

I see the ticketless fans lie has come out again, even though the Health and Safety Executive watched all the CCTV and counted the fans going in.

The stand itself was under capacity in the end and tickets were available on the day.

Doesn't stop the uneducated banging out the same rubbish though. I guess that will never change.

He's got a point.

I wonder if those people who ran through the gate and kept pushing from the back ever feel guilty.

I imagine it would be hard not to feel guilty. But pushing forwards in an effort to see the game is not enough to cause the death of 96 people, especially as there was ample room at that end of the ground. But the lack of shepherding to side pens and the failure to delay kick-off are much more significant as factors.

Obviously there were a number of factors that caused what happened to happen, the biggest one being the old bill, I just don't see why the supporters who were outside causing the crush should be blameless.

Oh RIIIIIIGHT

Thats ok then. Just a tiny little error like that. Yes I fully see your point now. What on earth is all the fuss about ?
