Whenever it catches my eye, it seems to be generally quite widely praised and compared very favourably with many, many other forums.

If you don't like it - go to somewhere more in keeping with your likes and/or start your own forum. If NSC is so wide of the mark, I'd imagine you'd be very, very successful.
