Tricky one... My first heroes were.. Barry Bridges and then Super Fred Binney. I remember Tony Towner starting and lighting up my youth and Teddy Maybank and Paul Clark (is evil). But the one I most respected was Brian Nobby Horton. He scouted me.

I was mates at school with Fred Binney's son in the 70's. Fred was a top bloke as I recall.

I bumped into an Exeter fan in Dubai the other week and we got talking in the pub, and his dog was called Fred after Fred Binney.
