We have to assume March will comeback as the player he was, what toll could his injury have done to him?
Well if we are going to take my massively optimistic statement seriously then yes March will need to be back to his peak, likewise Mitoma. In fact we would also need Estupinian to recapture the magic, Baleba to fulfill his potential extremely quickly and everyone else to improve or maintain their levels of brilliance Groß-stylee.

We need Mitoma and Estupiñan on the pitch together - massively missed that partnership this season

This thread reminds me of the time Chris McPhee vowed he would not cut his hair until he scored his next goal for the Albion.

We when start to fire again as a team. Haaland would struggle to score in our current forward form. I don't think it's an Evan problem, it's a team problem.

My guess is next season.

It’s been a combination of things.

With his general play/hold up play (so not goals) Evan appears to have lost his strength this season, run of the mill CB’s who were being run ragged by him last season, are all able to bully him in open play. I’m guessing he’s not fully fit or carrying an injury.

A loss of confidence from that.

There’ve been several home games (I don’t go away) where Ferguson or Welbeck were making great early runs say 40 yards out from goal, on repeat the obvious and doable balls never came. MacA and Gross last season just made them instinctively. Instead, since October 2023 in PL games, overplay and a lack of vision in midfield.

Goal or no goal not that important but needs to be involved when he is playing as it stands I barely see him. But goes a lot for who ever we have up there I dont think Welbeck is involved enough either. Like I said in another thread we barely use our strikers so we could just have another player in midfield instead

It’s ok to say when our players are performing poorly. Dunks not been at his best, most agree.

But I’ve faith in Evan. He’ll come good again. Don’t forget, he’s a human being not a machine. Ups and downs and all that.

Also did anyone listen to the Adam Virgo podcast last week? You never know what’s going on behind closed doors in someone’s personal life, and my god, sometimes it’s no wonder high profile footballers go through fallow periods after you’ve listened to that! Humans are humans, regardless how much they get paid.

Alot of excuse making in this thread. Evan really isn't getting himself into the right positions to score goals at the moment or working as hard as he seemed to last season, and when he did v Fulham he messed up two big chances. His confidence really does look shot and when that happens strikers tend to start dropping too deep to get on the ball rather than taking risks and playing intuitively. He's young, he has the talent, and it'll come eventually but this is the price of developing a youngster. He has the right attitude so isnt a Connelly and I hope weve learnt our lesson with Gykores that these things take time!
Agree with all of that. Its NOT just a lack of quality crosses. At his best he is well capable of stroking the ball home from all angles (Newcastle, Forest) as opposed to relying on someone dropping it on his noggin from out wide.

He'll come good again. We've all seen he has the talent, that doesn't just disappear. He has a top attitude as well. With regular games I'd back him to get 8-10 goals next season.

Would say out current set up on the pitch is not helping. He hets 0 service from the 0 pace we have.

Yet, RDZ still plays him as a target man.
This.

I've lost count of the times he's given a sign, rolled a defender, but never got 'the ball' or even a pass . . . . . . I don't think he's the problem with 'not scoring' most of the time .
