Stunning. Was Transformers 2 which i had to get from Blockbuster as am awaiting Band of Brothers to arrive in post. Must say the picture was brilliant. Was knocked out by as it as I must admit to being a tad unsure as to the benefits of blu-ray, being a cynical old fart. Great stuff

I'm a massive fan of HD but have resisted the temptation to get a Blu-Ray player to wait until the price drops. I recall the cheapest DVD players being over £80 when they first come out & now you can pick them up brand new for a fiver.

To be fair I am a cheap sod :lolol:

Some Bluray players are now under £80. A Philiips 2500 will only set you back £77 at Asda if there are any left.

Is it going to catch on like DVD? Seems to be making slow but steady progress so far.

What type of tv were you using?

We've just got an LED and it now blows the others out of the water.

It will be LCD.

(There's no such thing as an LED TV yet, and if there were it would cost a lot more than £300.)

I'd expect small OLED TVs to only be a few months away, they're finally actually starting to appear in real applications (phones and laptops) although they're still limited to financially viable screen sizes that might have been normal in 1954 for a TV...

32"+ OLED TVs are going to be wallet-shattering for the next few years at least - once they even hit the market.
