Just the FA Cup to get knocked out of now

We could be out of all the cup competitions by November, assuming we manage to go down tamely to the likes of Forest Green.

The cups are where I think the English have a different mentality to foreign managers and players. Certainly the FA Cup has always been a major competition to every club that enters, from the County League team that manages to win a couple of ties, the Conference side that gets through to the third round right through to the big clubs that tried really hard to win it. I don't think foreigners understand this tradition.

I thought tonight was shite and I will be really disappointed if we have no kind of cup run at all this season.

We have no chance of winning it so lets throw it Gus.

Who gives a sh*t about the JPL anyway.

Thats not the point its the manager instructing the team to effectively lose the game as he did in the League Cup. Not good.

Can someone remind me which manager got us through to the fourth round of the FA Cup last year, the furthest we have got since 1993, and a trip to Aston Villa. Yes, it was Poyet. Also, we lost in the first round of both the other cups last year.

We have our views. To all intents and purposes we threw both cup games. We could have won both games if we wanted to. We did not. We played lip service to both games. Of course Poyet would not say " throw the game " but he can play a team and tactics to make sure we lose. If you think anything else you are very naive. This is not exclusive to Poyet it happens across the land with many managers and clubs. Just dissapointed this mentality has come here. Anyway its over to Gus now. He has to deliver in the league so his tactics have put more pressure on him in the league now not less. It would have been more sensible to just try and win every game he had in front of him regardless of the competition.

i love this competition and am gutted we're out.

keeping it regional (especially when the nation is quartered) throws up some delicious ties. earlier kick-offs and cheaper entry fees just add to the draw.

our game against luton in the area final was sheer DRAMA.

And the FA Cup is a lot bigger than the JPT and Lg Cup put together. I'd love a run in it rather than the other 2 - but the lgs the most important thing as per usual.

When is the first round of the cup this year?

I'm hoping for a West Midlands oriented campaign:

Round one - Burton Albion away
Round two - Shrewsbury Town away
Round three - Walsall away
Round four - a big team away

I couldn't care less about the JPT, crap cup for crap teams. I was pissed off that Gus fielded a weak team for the Carling Cup as we could have got a glamour tie a couple of games in. I will actually boo him if he fucks around in the FA Cup as well. Let's not forget McGhee got crucified for saying some games didn't matter and Gus is having his back patted for saying much the same. Brighton fans excel in double standards.

Wasn't he in the Chelsea team that won the last FA cup at Wembley? I remember him saying how much it means to him.

Don't start coming on here with facts like that.

After any defeat we have to look at how we are going nowhere and we're all DOOMED!!!
