Yep. Total idiots causing absolute mayhem to peoples lives protesting in a country which contributes almost nothing to global problem. A colleague at work missed his flight to his family holiday because of this protest and had to fork out £3k for another flight. I dread to think the implications to anyone who was trying to get somewhere because of medical emergency.

Five supporters of the Just Stop Oil climate campaign who conspired to cause gridlock on London’s orbital motorway have been sentenced to lengthy jail terms.

Roger Hallam, Daniel Shaw, Louise Lancaster, Lucia Whittaker De Abreu and Cressida Gethin were found guilty last week of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance for coordinating direct action protests on the M25 over four days in November 2022.

Hallam received a five year sentence on Thursday, while the other four were each sentenced to four years.
Yep

I have a certain degree of sympathy with their cause. I have none for their methodology pursuing it.

When it comes to judging the sentences ... I've seen far more lenient sentences handed out to people who've done (IMO) far worse crimes. So in that respect ... no, I disagree with the sentences. But only because some sentences for some other crimes are too lenient.

Through these types on demonstration these supporters are not helping the cause. So yes about time they started getting prison sentences and hope other judges hand out similar sentences. Not sure what happens when the prisons get full though

The most curious thing..
No - ridiculously long for the offence.

If everyone who caused a traffic jam got similar, there wouldn't be much room left on the commute.
