Probably, but then chucking some orange flour that will wash off next time it rains it's probably precisely in that middle ground. I'm not sure it's a particularly astute thing to do politically but then they're getting a lot of attention so who knows?
Now you see, that isn’t the middle ground, it’s one of the positions I mentioned and you trying to claim (presumably because you agree with it) that that’s the middle ground.

I don’t like the tactic of chucking paint over anything and everything to “start a conversation”. Whether it’s Stonehenge, the pitch at Lord’s, paintings in the National Gallery or the Magna Carta.

If you want to go and chuck paint over stuff to make a point, go and throw it at the HQ of BP. Or the Daily Mail. Or 55 Tufton Street. Or CCHQ. They’re the people driving climate denialism and global heating, not English Heritage.

IIRC the roads adjacent to the ground were closed before kick off and at the end anyway.

But if we’re going to carry on this ridiculous false equivalence I look forward to 8000 Just Stop Oil invading the pitch during the Euro 2024 finals before saving the world in Hereford a year later.
This is the substance of partial 'debate' these days.

Anyway, all political parties are the same. Innit. ???

that’s genuinely great to learn, but don’t go inviting people up there, let alone in their vehicles it’ll be the start of ruining something precious.
You can get there on public transport via the Welsh Highland Railway and the Ffestiniog railway which runs on, erm, coal....

I'm reliably informed that English Heritage are just a front organisation, and are actively engaged behind the scenes in furthering Big Oil, Russian expansionism in Central Asia, and generally working for the forces of darkness and Evil.

Stonehenge is actually a temple dedicated to their sinister sex/death cult. All those "lichens" are just stains left over from their bizarre initiation ceremonies.

Certainly, this is the only explanation that makes any sense for why the entry fee at Battle is so high.

I don’t believe you really mean that? That is the recipe for total anarchy.
It would also mean that any laws that come in to mitigate climate change can be freely ignored if you ‘believe it is wrong’. Not helpful!
You cannot tell me you’ve never broken a single law in your life. We all have, everyone of us.

Thank you, I have already had that correction.
And it's Bodiam  B'dum b'dum. This really is a water pistol fight using smoke instead of water. I'm looking forward to mirrors later. Why can't people do nuance any more? I'd take all those who can't do nuance outside and have them spot.

For the records, I think climate change is bad, paint is bad, flour isn't bad, being an arse is bad, and failing to persuade people of a good cause is bad.

That's the point though, it's kind of how 'centrists' frame things - You like to define 'extreme' and therefore the middle ground. I would describe permanent damage (like blowing them up) as extreme not some dye that will wash away, you think otherwise but the centre or middle ground isn't so clearly defined.

Every time this misinformation about “dye/powder which will wash away” comes up I am obliged to correct it.

The specialists who tend to the stones are saying the opposite.

Archaeologist Mike Pitts expressed his strong concern over the potential damage, and said that the megaliths were fenced off and guarded to protect their surfaces, which were entirely covered in prehistoric markings that haven't been fully analyzed. He also expressed concern about possible damage to the divers lichen patterns on the megalith surfaces.

Now I don’t think for a second they considered this, but if anything it makes it even worse and shows how irresponsible they are being by knowingly committing criminal acts without even an understanding of the outcome.

I'm more concerned that they haven't got round to fully recording and analysing those markings yet. It's not like they only appeared last week.

I'm telling you, English Heritage are actually Majestic 12. If they're not spending those entry fees on proper research they must be hiding aliens/taking over the world with malevolent AIs.
