Oh well, world would be boring if we all liked the same things. I liked it. One of the common arguements is that it is a simple redemption flick....but there isnt really a lot to redemption other than...well...redeeming oneself.
It was the best film i've seen this year. Not hugely brilliant, but is well worth seeing anything that forces you to mentally and emotionally debate the sickening conflict between state politics and the enforcement of physical ownership. A really tangled almost televisual affair unfolds, embedded with constant social and sexual suspicion.
Parts seem corny, in a way, and some of the characters remain at an uncomfortable and untouchable distance, but any film thought-based and wrapped in endeavour must surely be worth a view. Or it was for me. Meade's_Ball recommends.
