Just see this big bug in my garden

It was like a wasp, but it had a huge stinger on the front but not on the back it was huge, thought it might be a hornet but just looked at pics on the internet and its not one.

It was pretty big and the stinger was long, dog was trying to eat it so called him
in, as it was not going away.

Anyone have any idea, never seen anything like it before

Looked like that but not as yellow was a bit darker, but yes pretty much the same

Wasps in the family stand at Withdean were an utter NIGHTMARE. I'd forgotten that.

They're harmless arent they. Bit early I'd have thought for this far north. Must be brought in by the current prevailing winds? Seen them on holidays in France.
