Couldn't you rename it Albion TV, as there is more than one Albion. In this modern era of perfect digital images, some of the best football videos are the ones produced by fans, bit rougher round the edges but somehow captures the raw emotion of live football. Just upload fans videos and call it Albion TV.

Perhaps the next step is for Prem clubs to shut down fan sites if they were started before the club was Prem.

I think that's very unlikely. It's probably the club flexing their Premier League muscles.

I did wonder whether there was more in it than meets the eye. Thanks.

Or "F*** you corporate greed tv"

I enjoy watching Seagulls TV videos, especially games from the Goldstone in the 70s and 80s.
Goldstone Rapper has done some great work with his website and videos, I really like the history of our club.

I hope these videos are not lost for ever.

I’m assuming this has come from the club as they are now putting their own output out under “Seagulls TV”.
Ignoring the content for a second, does the club have the rights for 'seagulls tv'? They can't own everything with 'seagulls' in the title.

No idea. Goldstone Rapper has been using it for a lot longer.

Have they asked you to also take down www.seagulls.tv? I'd just fill it with porn or something but offer to sell what is now a premium domain name to the club for a premium price should they want it.

That's my thought. You suggested the club might want to put out 'seagulls tv', but that's owned by Goldstone Rapper, not the club.

You've been spending too much time with El Pres. I think GR should establish what his rights are - if he's not allowed to show the footage, then perhaps just have it as a channel where fans chat (MK style) for now. Don't just hand it over without being sure you have to though.

I wold suspect it's the channel name - and the inference that it's a club channel, which it isn't.

I say this because there is a new-ish Twitter account called 'Albion History' (assuming it's being run by Tim Carder) which is posting old ITV local news footage of Albion games. Unless, of course, they too have been asked to cease and desist...

Is this similar to the Posh Spice story of Victoria Beckham claiming ownership of Posh and challenging Peterborough over their use of it even though they had been using it longer?

Dunno.

What communication have you had and from whom?

timco was asked to take down www.albionalbum.co.uk by the club, but managed to agree an approach that left the site in tact.
