£350. Marina Coupe. On a hot day your skin would literally peel off onto the interior. What a motor.

Another member here from the Marina club. L reg £ 350 in 1983.
Blew the engine up in 1986. Apparently you have to put oil in them.

First car I bought myself was a Seat Ibiza Award for a about £9000 in 2004/5. It got smashed up after about 9 months with a baseball bat as I got caught shagging some kiddies bird - whoops!

About £150 for a second hand Austin Allegro - had more play in the steering wheel than the whole Crystal Palace first team

Standard...sit up and beg .....£20....sold it two years later for £25....

Ooh I remember the family having one of those back in the late 50's/early 60's - loved that motor. Big front end and that sloping rear roof - absolutely cracking motor in memory if not necessarily in practice (I seem to recall it breaking down regularly and - if I'm right - having to be started on the crank handle?)

Vauxhall Viva HC (X14)... It had 14 extras over a standard Viva HC as the Chevette had just been released as a replacement for the Viva and the factory had to "jazz 'em up" a bit to shift 'em. "Extra's were to name a couple, metallic paint and beige velour upholstry . It was 5 years old when I got it in 1977 as my first car, cost £750.00 and to this day remains the newest (and worst) car I have ever owned Crock of metallic green sh*t.

I ended up having 4 capri's, the mk 2 JPS being my favourite, as you say those were the days.
