How would that stand (scenario) were we,well let's say top of the table?
It's one thing for the club to turn down derisory offers for our stars.
Very different being able to turn down over heated offers.

Lots of managers already must be coveting AK, and he's an easy sell to their clubs money men.

Keeping him through January would be fantastic business.
If the worst case were to happen and AK left, I'm sure the money involved would have all of us saying 'the club had no choice'.

If we are in with a shout of top two in January I will not accept that we need to sell Knocky whatever the price. It would be an admission that we are not capable of getting promoted. The backlash from the fans would be massive.

We'd get a bigger transfer fee.
No way would we let him go. He'd only have to wait a few months to get his time in the PL, with or without us. We wouldn't throw promotion away.

How about Newcastle's offer of up to 10m for Knockaert in July.
You say the club will do things, forgetting that they've already done the reverse of what you predict.

In this current market £10m is Dale Stephens money, and is certainly in the derisory bracket when talking about AK.

As said if he were to go, it would be for a sum of money I don't think anyone would blame the club for accepting.

So for example,a £15M bid comes in-yet we are a few months away from a potential £250M.

Remind me of the respective league stats from open play for Hemed and Baldock a full nine games into the season if you'd be so kind. Cheers.

Nah. You know em.

Having a player who can put a penalty away in the 89th minute with aplomb to win us 3 points is fine by me.

TBH if it were 31.12.16 right now, not only would I be glad Christmas was over, I don't think the club (TB) wouldn't accept that either.
But they'd be bracing themselves for further offers.

you keep discussing how we might sell this or that, yet the remarkable fact that Bloom has turned down every offer for our players, including from Prem league clubs for 3 windows in a row, seems to have passed you by.

Lucky we've never missed out to promotion to the Premier League on goal difference then.

Oh.

I would be really really pissed off if we sold him in January unless we were mid table when Burnley could also have Stephens.

Truth is I hope we will be breaking incoming transfer fee records in an attempt to get promoted, not breaking outgoing records

You are right, but i think our position then will define what we do,personally i would like us to spend £10M if top this January.....

& hope lessons have been learned from last season.

Oh.

Bit harsh to pin all of that on poor old Tomer Hemed who racked up 11 goals from February onwards in our promotion run in. How about some of the players who let goals in the other end. Aren't they responsible ?
