I'm very good with the snacks. I don't buy chocs and crisps and remove temptation.

My downfall is portion size. If ever my wife is out for the evening then I would say I'm eating a family meal by myself. I ate two bowls of spag bol that I knocked up. Worked out after that I had technically had 6 'portions'.

I beg my wife not to leave me. Not for the whole 'love' stuff. But because I'd get really fat.

I'm 6ft 4 and 14.5 stone so actually OK

I was 13 stone when I went away to Uni and was 17 stone by the end of the first year. That says it all really.

Used to spend a day or two a week in Birmingham for work. One night, heading home, there was a bloke just outside New Street station selling huge bags of butchers’ pork scratchings for £2. I don’t mean plastic, these were large paper bags. Bought one intending to take to my mate’s poker night two days later. By Watford Junction there wasn’t a single crumb left.

That would have sent me into a tail spin, sat on a train next to someone munching their way through a skip load of pork scratchings!

Sandwiches are my downfall. If there is a whole platter in front of me I'd easily eat about 3-4 sandwiches, in 'quarter' triangles

My dear wife, Mrs OW, is a food scientist and we don't get a great deal of "comfort" food in our house, she even prepares meals for when she's away. Now, I see this as an opportunity for a little delve into the dark side! It's like a military operation.

Two bin bags, one for the naughty gear and the other for pretending I've eaten the "lighter" offerings.

On one night I'll have my favourite meal; chip shop chips, chinese chicken curry, sweet and sour prawn balls, with sauce, and special fried rice. I always look at this and think I can portion this into three to four meals, which I could, but somehow, over a period of a few hours or so, it all slowly evaporates!

Not in Whitechapel
I ate nearly a kilo of pork belly slices with Nando’s BBQ rub on the other day, with a portion of chips and then I still made room for dessert afterwards

dazzer6666 would have thrown me out of the window.

In my defence a) I only intended to have one to try  and b) this is not quite yer overstuffed Southern rush hour tin box. A ten car Virgin train which is normally half empty after Coventry. There can't have been anyone within three rows of me.

Missed a chance to use the past participle of defenestrate!

Chez Dede pizzeria, Pornichet some time in mid 90s - polished off a snail pizza after a gym session...and then ordered a second one much to the amusement of my French pals who by then were contemplating brandy and gauloise

Two lobsters and two New York steaks on formal night on board a cruise...started with escargot and finished with creme brûlée and baked Alaska , washed down with two bottles of New Zealand sav blanc.

I have very poor will power so will eat the entire of whatever- I have in front of me. give me a small fun bag of maltesers, lovely, give me a family box - I will gobble that bad boy up. family packs, multipacks, extra large pizzas etc

I tried to buy food for work in advance to save the daily expense of the co-op, so on a Monday I would eat 5 bananas, 7 bags of crisps and probably all the ham so dry bread for the rest of the week.

I am currently chomping through a large bag of mint imperials until I inevitably shit myself

When I was about 5, I went to a kids jelly and ice-cream party. I was a proper piglet in those days and within 5 minutes of getting there, I had spied the table spread with the usual party treats, so I proceeded to "escape" from the up coming party games and scoff as much as I could from the table.

It wasn't long before I was complaining of feeling ill with a stomach ache. My mum had to come and pick me up approximately 20 minutes after she had dropped me off.

My wife used to work nights when the kids were young and that would mean a large spliff and then basically parking my chair by the fridge in the kitchen. I remember eating about a kilo of cheddar one night and numerous bags of cheap market crisps.
I felt like shit for 3 days - and got bollocked for being greedy.

Does cheese really give you nightmares though ?

back in the 80s I went to Porto with a friend. It was very poor there at the time. We were starving so in a restaurant we just pointed to what we though was a starter and main. Four huge plates of food appeared. We felt bad about wasting anything so made ourselves eat the lot (with several bottles of wine). I didn't think I'd ever eat again after that.

I avoid Twiglets because I just can stop eating them if I start

I would say about 1000 calories in total there at least.

I invited a rather atractive girl to my flat for dinner many years ago.
I decided to try and impress her with my culinary skills and made a chicken chasseur that afternoon from scratch, all the ingredients, including a good white wine.
When it was cooked I thought I would give it a little taste to see if it was ok.
It was bloody brilliant with an exceptional taste, I ate the whole lot in a short time, it was so good.
I had to knock up a spaghetti bolognaise quickly before she arrived, l really struggled to eat it when she got there.
