More importantly, why is the European Union such a terrible place? When I used to live there and on all the holidays and visits there I’ve always found it to be perfectly civilised, why are so many willing to risk their lives to leave it? Very odd.

I was thinking more from a point of what a Brit has to give up personally, don't forget many millions of Brits live in Spain and all over Europe for work. I wouldn't call them dickheads, i'd level that retort and someone easily bought by bigotry
