What's he done?

Had a tantrum and kicked Julian Lewis out of the party because he stole the chair of the Information & Security Committee from Bojo's nominee, Chris Grayling. This is the committee behind the Russia report and Cummings & Co wanted a stooge as the chair who would sit on it for as long as possible.

Never create a plan involving Failing Grayling. He's somehow managed to lose a rigged election, and with No 10 removing the whip from Lewis they've made an enemy out of him meaning we should see the report very soon.

You could not make it up!

I was wondering if ministers could plummet as low as Grayling, who has just left a catalogue of doo in his wake, but Gavin Williamson is a prime candidate for challenging the depth of the nadir.
I wouldn't describe what Cummings is up to as worrying. He's merely doing what he's always done: control freakery. And the more he does it, the more the public will wake up to it.

It’s an interesting one because Lewis is a member of the ERG who form a large chunk of the Tory MPs. Maybe they’re just biding their time until January, when Brexit is done, and will stick their collective knives into Johnson’s back.

Russia report should be out next week, Tories were absolutely desperate to not release this during last years election. We may soon discover why...

It should also be remembered that Dominic Cummings and the ERG absolutely despise one another with a passion. They may both be on the same "side" but there is absolutely no love lost whatsoever. Many in the ERG will be only too delighted to see him get the boot.

Maybe there will be enough in the redacted Russia report to kick him out.

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...llying-inquiry-into-priti-patel-to-leave-post

The senior civil servant in charge of the bullying inquiry into the home secretary, Priti Patel, is to leave her post next month in another major Whitehall shake-up.

Helen MacNamara’s new role as a permanent secretary in an as-yet unidentified Whitehall department will heighten speculation that No 10 is clearing the way for Patel to be cleared of multiple bullying allegations.

The director general of propriety and ethics has previously been identified as the person blocking No 10 from clearing Patel in a report that has been sitting on the prime minister’s desk for several weeks.

MacNamara, who deputised for ousted cabinet secretary Mark Sedwill, will now take up a new position in another major Whitehall department.

Her departure is the latest in a string of moves which have included Sedwill’s departure as national security adviser as well as cabinet secretary, the acrimonious exit of Philip Rutnam as Patel’s Home Office permanent secretary and the early retirement of Simon McDonald as permanent secretary at the Foreign Office.

When you hear Dominic Grieve speak you get a reminder of the experience that Johnson purged from the party, grown up politicians. What is left is driving us towards ruin, our Union of nations is hanging by a thread

Getting out ahead of the story, take control of the narrative. Very Trumpian.

Yes, sit on the story for as long as possible while working out your strategy, try to let it leak out in dribs and drabs to lessen the impact.

So a day after the government's chief scientific advisor says no reason to change work from home message, the government says don't work from home.

Clearly the jobs of a few sandwich/coffee bar workers are worth more than lives!
