All this rampant corruption and attempts to stoke culture war flames to distract from abysmal handling of Covid and Brexit.

But, y'know, Starmer wants teachers to be given the Covid vaccine so who's the REAL bad guy here, eh?

100 % this .......the global , corrupt , political class are richer to the tune of billions in public money siphoned off whilst we all piss ourselves over a nasty bug that kills mostly old people .......a group which 3 years ago were being lambasted by numerous governments worldwide for being a drain on society and expensive to keep .......we are being controlled to such an extent it's bloody ridiculous and if you are unaware of it then i dip my hat and wish you bon voyage...x

I think it's obviously Starmer, he's a nasty little man who keeps picking up on errors and cronyism by government ministers while not praising the Prime Minstrel for getting vaccination right against the odds... oh, and Starmer does not love The Flag like the Tories either, the lefty only has one flag, if at all, behind him when he announces things..

The bloody vaccines ! Their only success so they have to keep shouting about it from the rooftops. I heard we vaccinate 17m people every year with the flu jab and if anyone's to thank it's the people that actually do it like NHS workers. It's a victory for socialism :)

I think the scientists who discovered/invented the vaccine had something to do with it too.....

Pfft, these people sound too much like "experts" to me. And we all know we've had enough of them.

Remember it wasn't that long ago the Tories were in a civil war with junior doctors. The NHS has delivered inspite of a decade of being under attack

The vaccination programme has been first class but this lot could still cock it all up

Bloody Worthing!
[tweet]1362100482978807813[/tweet]

I think the thing that distinguishes this mob is their front. No matter how many times they are revealed as incompetent/corrupt/lying they just hang on in there. No-one admits anything, no-one is fired, they just keep on keeping on. It all just bounces off them. I'm not sure there's much you can do against this approach - no matter how bad it gets, they'll just keep on spinning.
It really is remarkable but not in a good way.

Rhetorical question: just how many people would have had to die in the pandemic to put a permanent dent in their popularity? Just how bad would it have to be?

This is a “government” the likes we have never seen before. None of them has a passion for politics. None of them is qualified to run the country. They have got into power for the sole purpose of bleeding the country dry. They saw an opportunity to ride in on the back of Brexit. Something else they have no belief in. And that is why Brexit has been, by any standard, an unmitigated disaster.
It’s why the response to Covid is so shockingly poor. They have no desire or ability to tackle this stuff.
The referendum result showed them they had a gullible majority and could get them to support anything if they pandered to the nationalistic, blame the foreigner and bash the poor attitude of Leave voters. And they have.

I was discussing this with a French friend of mine today who has lived here for 5 years, he just doesn't get the apathy of the British public

I think we could be on 250k deaths and Johnson would still maintain a solid base, meanwhile 80% of the media just plays along and fails to call out his lies and serial incompetence.
