Interesting comment in the Argus attributed to SC

I cannot say a great deal to be honest. I enjoy working at Brighton full stop. I work with a wonderfully committed bunch of people. This certainly wouldn't be an issue if the Stadium was resolved"

Sounds like he's on his way to me, but then I'm a pessimist about hanging on to managers at Brighton.

Madejski said when Pardew left that when looking for another manager, they would approach the chairman of that club and ask for permission. If he then says no then they look elsewhere. They would not 'tap up' a manager under contract like he believed West Ham did. They have acted competely by thr rules. They must be a clause saying he can talk to a higher club as surely DK wouldnt be that stupid to allow. This takes me back to Cham Man when Bobby signed a new deal only for Charlton to offer £750,000 when his value was £1.5m as I forgot to realise he had a minimum release fee:angry:

Oh no - I knew that. I cant have made myself clear.

What I am rather peed off about is that ArseReading know that it will leave us worse off, and there are plenty of managers about, eg George Graham, that don't have a club. Why they have to go for Brighton's manager, like so many of our players is all a bit too much for me.:(

If he does go i will lose all respect for the man and i will personally be writing a very strongly worded letter to both him and that wanker Madjeski.

I thought that and was cynical enough to wonder if there's a problem with Falmer that we don't know about YET.

God this has ruined my day before it starts:angry:

In London village.
According to today's Guardian Reading are "believed" to have reached agreement with the Albion and held talks with SC yesterday.

Please don't let this be true. :nono:

SC is an intelligent man. Approval for Falmer is only one piece of the picture. The financing has to be put in place and then it has to be built. A minimum of 3-4 years away. In the meantime he'd have to work as he is currently doing, on a shoestring budget, begging for loan players, etc. etc.

If we were in his position what would each of us do? Remembering that it is only US-the supporters-who have a lifetime commitment to a football club.

Not again! I rather naively expected more of Coppell, if he chooses to leave because of the stadium issue, I will be absolutely outraged. I know you can't expect loyalty anymore and that it cuts both ways for managers and players, but this just stinks!

It looks like we are a halfway house for managers who think they are too good for us but haven't got another job yet. And to use Falmer as an excuse when we are soooooooooooo close to getting approval is simply unforgivable.

I just hope it is all paper talk and we are getting wound up about nothing, but unfortunately this thread has plunged me into a black mood.

On a lighter note I was given the opportunity to watch palace get beat last night, and they were truly woeful, still scant consolation if this news turn out to be true.

Apparently according to the rumours on Royals.org Hoddle has been offered it and turned it down because they wouldn't employ that twat Gorman as well. This leaves SC as 2nd choice. Our only hope is he turns it down. I have to say it makes Madjeski a total hypocrite after all his rants about West Ham. Even if Coppell has it in his contract to talk to another club, Reading are still poaching him and they will lose alot of sympathy thet thet got after Pardew went.

This is all part of Reading's plot to get a rival club permanently. Stealing players from us, now managers and a title run in which we thankfully won to shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Malarki certainly wants to p*** us all off so he's now going to try and scupper our chances this season. It's been said before, and now I'll say it again. Until we get falmer this club's always going to get stuck with nearly managers or poached managers. I live in Berks and I'm sick of the place now.......coming home to Sussex in protest. Reading, who the **** are they?!

Why will he be any different? Or have I missed a subtlety here?
