I've heard of the terrible train situation from London and north to the Midlands is especially bad and then adding the train wreck of a situation in the south we should wish we had the smooth running trains of Poland.

and people moan at fans for leaving early?? I don't blame anyone for leaving early when you hear of stories like these and it happens at every ground.

I watched the Liverpool v Leicester game on Saturday after our game and although Liverpool thrashed them the ground was 3/4 empty before the end.

We should be saying well done for turning up, not having a go if people leave 5 mins early

I travelled on a total of five trains last night all of which were delayed. This kind of service is sadly making me think twice about going to the Reading match next week.

Well done to you mate
I always stay after for a couple of pints.
However tonight was a joke.
Most of the people trying to get on the buses were students going into town to get pissed up.
I had already achieved this and just wanted to get to bed :moo:

Should have told them to respect their elders and when totally ignored then tell them to piss off

On a slightly different note.

Bridge Street Car Park...

Surely someone needs to accept the lengthy queues and frustration experienced trying to leave the car park can be easily resolved if someone manually controls the traffic lights after you come under the bridge!!

Was once again getting very heated last night with the stewards allowing 3 cars a time from each direction only to then have to wait as cars queue to get under the bridge!

Up and Coming Sunny Portslade
I set an early leaving record last night. I have tendonitis in my left leg that presents as pain in my knee. I thought a couple of beers might act as a nice anaesthetic but in fact they made me too careless and I jarred it again walking to the ground. Net result was I couldn't bend my leg enough to sit in the seat properly and couldn't see when everyone else stood up (like when Murphy was through). So called it quits at half time and me and my mate wandered to get what i thought would be an empty, running train.

Got to the station about 8.50. Next train wasn't due until 9.15 but it was showing as delayed till 9.33 and formed of 2 (TWO) coaches. In other words if we wanted to use the train to go home we might as well have stayed at the game. Hobbled instead to get a 25 on the dual carriageway which turned up packed with students. God knows what adding 20,000 people to that mix would have done.

The only upside was the second bus we got dropped us right outside my local where I was able to have more anaesthetic and celebrate the news of Knocky's goal on my smartphone. Ended up staying till closing time. Probably got in later than some of you :lolol:

Rape of Hastings, Sussex
After the announcement at around 65 minutes in, which I couldn't hear, regarding there now only being 4 trains heading east, I legged it, out of the West Upper and tore down to the station right after the Knockaert goal. Someone appeared to be holding open the gate for the platform, against the wishes of one of the 'staff' to ensure all of his family could get on the platform, rather like in 'Titantic' when passengers were breaking out of steerage, so I was able to make it on to the platform to get the 2142 Newhaven train and then changed at Lewes for the Hastings train and was home before 2300.

To announce, and I'm not having a go at the club, that were only 4 trains heading east after the game was a new low in the SASTA debacle for me.

Biked it from Portslade, home in 45 minutes. SO glad to have this option at the moment while the weathers decent. I'm dreading the bad weather when I'll have to throw myself upon the whims of SASTA. In fact I'll probably just stick to the bus.

I gather SASTA only told the club about the reduced services during the game, so I think the club deserve some credit for taking the action they did, firstly as good as telling people "leaving early might be a good idea tonight" and then lining up buses to get people to Lewes. I gather they'd also got hold of a number of taxis to also run shuttles from Falmer to Lewes too.

I agree. I wasn't criticising the club when making my post, as they certainly did everything they could from what I heard elsewhere. For SASTA to do that during the game though, when there were people there who'd travelled by train from the east and were relying on it to get home like I and countless others were, was beyond the pale.
