[Albion] Just getting fed up with our inability to win a big game

I'll reply to you whose calling me entitled rather than that Spurs bloke - I'm one of the least entitled Brighton fans around and people who know my posting history on here will know that.

An entitled fan would expect to win that game and be pissed off we didn't. I didn't expect to win, I know how good Brentford are.

It's not about that, it's not about our league position and being annoyed we haven't got more points. It's about that feeling of going into a real, proper, six pointer battle against a great team and coming out victorius, I want that feeling. Brentford and Fulham have had it three times between them against us this season. Sure we can beat the lines of Man U and Liverpool and enjoy beating the name of the team we've beat, but games like today are the real battle.

Oh, and it's not a kneejerk thing, been thinking this for a while now. Coming out victorious against a team playing well isn't something we do that often.
It does sound like we should be beating teams like Brentford, sorry.

Fulham and Brentford games this season have been so frustrating. If we'd won today that would have been a real statement of intent. It wasn't to be, but it could have been worse, we could have lost that.

Well, I've thoroughly enjoyed turning over Bruce and Moyes dinosaur Newcastle and West Ham sides, or bursting Leeds balloons, and of course enjoyed beating those underperforming Man Utd and Arsenal teams over and over and listening to their fans wanting everyone sacked on 606.

But a win today would have meant so much more, coming up against a real rival, another team doing great, another team playing well, and beating them, that would have been a real feather in our cap. But not to be. Again.
But if we had beaten Brentford or Fulham you would have called them mid table fodder. If we beat a top team they are having an off day. Basically you can never be happy.

Our corners are embarrassing, might as well just give the opposition a goal kick. Why are we not varying the takers?
goal scoring from corners is statistically not in the attacking teams favour although I agree why not let Pervis or Mac swing one in.

Fall squarely under the big team having a mini crisis category - or even just that we raised our game for obvious and exceptional reasons. Admittedly they weren't in bad form before playing us, but hindsight shows they were definitely shite.
Chelsea were 9 matches unbeaten under Potter when they played us.

It went downhill for them after that.

Exactly, you would never hear Spurs fans being disgruntled.
Never. We’re very happy at the moment. All rosy. Currently looking like a 17th European campaign in 18 seasons.

2 of my mates who are Spurs fans nabbed tickets for todays game because Brighton cannot sell out a bloody huge game in terms of European qualification enjoyed it though.

Did they buy NS tickets today?

No, not 'should be beating', its not that, it really isn't.

It is an accumulation of big six pointer games that we go into with that hope of winning, and which we never win, that has just come to a head with me today.

Sorry, I should really drop this now. I love how we play, love everything about us, but I just really wanted that big statement win we didn't get against Fulham, and didn't get today. Will keep wanting.

For all our chances, we could’ve very very easily lost today.

We came from behind 3 times. That is big mentality.
A player who has played on the biggest stage in the world, takes a penalty in the 88th minute, as cool as you like.
