The sliding scale of delivered take away food has to be:-

Pizza.

Chinese
Curry.

KFC

Burgers

Fish and chips.

I'm sorry but that screw up is entirely on you.

You either are close enough to get your own fish and chips or you have something else.
To expect anything other than a cold mess of grease is naive in the extreme.

Where would you fit in Thai, Ramen, Israeli fusion, Artisan BBQ, Cypriot, Plant Based Wraps, Nigerian and Egyptian.?
Move out of the sticks man, FFS.

My sliding scale is somewhat simpler and more traditional

Curry/Chinese

followed by

Maybe step away from the phone Tubs ???

(Although I have been known to pick up from Hangleton Bankers and then ABSOLUTELY FLOOR IT along Hangleton road and up King George VI avenue)

Pizza is the only thing I have delivered.

I wouldn't dream of 'just eat' or 'deliveroo', they are just a tax on the fat and lazy!!!

You'd think I'd be their number one customer

The doris got in from work at 9 and fancied a Maccies (yeah, I know). I had been drinking since 4 though, so a trip out was not on the agenda. So we ordered online from Just Eat at about 9.15. Est delivery time was 21.40-22.00. Fine.

Come 22.00 going by our online order a driver had not even been assigned. 22.30 the same. So I've got my order on the screen with status updates (still 'waiting to assign a driver'), but NO option to cancel it. Obviously its a write-off by now, I didn't even particularly want it in the first place, but now I've had a narky hungry missus (as if its MY fault), no food, and a £13 hole in my account. Their website is shite, there's no discernible way to cancel and get a refund without engaging with a "chatbot". Which I reluctantly did, and eventually cancelled it whilst being told I'll get my refund within 24 hours. What a cuffing FAFF.

Long and short, I've spent half the evening pissing about with them to cancel and get a refund, I'm peckish and will probably resort to a ham and cheese toastie (which I'd have been happy with in the first place).

Just Eat ? Just don't f*cking bother. What a bunch of ARSE

Why had you not cooked a lovely meal for your hard working wife instead of enjoying yourself drinking.😁

No chance pizza is top of the list, it's one of the more risky. Always have to put the oven on in case it arrives disappointingly lukewarm, where the cheese has just started to harden. I'd say it's about 50% of the time it needs a reheat.

Whereas I've never once had a curry delivered that isn't piping hot.

Agree on fish and chips though. Wouldn't ever risk it being delivered.

I've only used them twice before and they were very good - delivered within about 20-25 and it was HOT. No complaints.

Tonight was a total write-off though. As I snottily left on their feedback - if you haven't got the drivers then DON'T TAKE THE ORDERS. I won't be using them again, there's just no way of knowing if its going to arrive. And there's nobody to speak to, not like you can call someone up.

Lesson learned.

Deliveroo stopped taking delivery orders as we were heading back from the beach yesterday. We swapped to collection and had our best fish n chips supper in quite a long while.

Almost always give a delivered pizza a blast in the oven….usually seem a bit undercooked. Our local Chinese and Indian is usually ok. Burgers we had delivered last night were excellent (and hot). Don’t eat Maccy Ds but wouldn’t get a delivery (although the drive-through in town is always queuing back bloody miles - despite the place being in an actual car park that always has spaces).

Reading this thread you could be forgiven for thinking Wall-E was a documentary.

Of course we do. After all, what else goes with a schooner of dry hopped barrel aged artisanal hand crafted IPA?

I wouldn't expect myself to get a 'nice chippy supper' home that distance, let alone someone else.
Unless you think yours is coming by Delorean, I have no idea what you're complaining about
