I reckon we had something like 8 or 900 there today.

The away portion in the Arkells holds 1200 and it seemed pretty full from where I was (far left, looking towards the pitch) so 800-1000 would be about the mark.

Quick easy drive from Zummerset and a couple of pints in The Merlin where I can confirm sightings of Safeway and BAG. A bloke who looked like a photo of Beach Hut I have seen whizzed past also. The West Brom v Charlton game provided great viewing.

Some decent chips from the chippy en route to the ground and then the whole ridiculous queue to pay and then return to the turnstyle to enter the ground arrangement and we were seated just as the teams came out.

Forster made their defence look snail-paced as he stole in, nicked the ball and finished, off the post, expertly. I think this early goal against an obviously weak team made us a tad complacent and although Kuipers was not really forced into action, they enjoyed some good possession. Just before the break, Robinson collected the ball wide on the left somewhere around the corner of the box and stuck one in the top corner and that probably finished the game.

At half-time the Junior Seagulls beat the Junior Robins (or whatever they're called) in a penalty shoot-out - Swindon must really love those against us.

The second half again saw Swindon enjoy some possession without really threatening, before their defence parted like the Red Sea to allow Hammond to waltz through and finish with a cracking effort into the roof of the effort. He looked very pleased with himself as he milked the Albion celebrations.

The players let us down as we pleaded "we want four" although they came close.

A very well deserved 3 points but Swindon were woeful. We listened to the local BBC radio on the way out and their manager conceded that 5 or 6 players admitted to not really turning up today, which represents what we saw.

the away section looked full from the town end. although some of it has been roped off, so no longer holds the capacity of 1,200

That was me as I spoke to BAG in the Merlin and a very rare sighting of Safeway....which was nice.

I caught a brief glimpse of Safeway whilst talking to Roz. Where is he nowadays?
