...do I win a prize?!

Admitedly I'm at my brother's place in Nantwich, would've been a bit quick getting back to Brighton in that time.

Fantastic performance by the lads today, dominated for 80 minutes, but were a bit shakey for 10 of the last 15. Don't think I've ever seen us put so many crosses into the box, coming from both McLeod and Cox. It's class how they can swap over like that. My man of the match? Either Thomson or Whing... Would be good if Thomson worked on his shooting a little (Get your head down!) Very promising, honestly could've had (an overused phrase) 10 goals today.

Great away support, noone in the home end.

Player ratings?

Sounds like we had a decent ref as well.

You even beat Julie home & she lives in Crewe! Still, maybe she's catching up with old friends and keeping Pete Canning vertical!

Just got back as well - live near Derby

Team had a very solid and well organised look to it.

Elphick and Hawkins cleared their lines well, fullbacks overlapped as well.

Virgo sat just in front of the back four and hepled a lot with his height, but also sprayed a few good passes around, particularly to Cox, Virgo could well be the long term Hammond replacement with 10 or 15 goals from midfield, looked as if he enjoyed it as well, got forward a bit too and took his goal well.

Thomson got forward a lot more than ever before, Cox didn't prat about on the ball, generally just crossed it. McLeod had quieter game but has a very good left foot on him, best since Currie. Even Murray was not offside as often as in past, Forster was just class when scored late on. Cue fans going mad

Best part for me was we had five players out there who were all organising and ensuring the shape of the team who could easily have been captain - Elphick, Hawkins, Virgo, Thomson and Forster. Can't recall that at all since some of our epic one nil away wins in the championship under McGhee re Oatway and Butters et all

Overall football will be far more direct than under Wilkins, but on todays showing you would be surprised if ultimately not far more successful

Just thought, Cox didn't have any mini tantrums at all today, Micky must have had a "quite" word or two!

Have to say I thought he was the poorest in the team today.

You talk as though Cox had tantrums in every match, week-in week-out.

He didn't.

Other than that, nice review of the match.

Nice of him to accentuate his spelling mistake too.

Albion were good at times, Crewe were SHITE however. Lots of attacking down the flanks which was good to see - not sure about Virgo in the midfield, although you can't really argue with a goal!

Backline generally solid, Kuipers didn't have much to do other than the goal (although crewe did put two SITTERS wide in the first half). Thomson isn't really an attacking midfield and got caught out of position a lot. Again though having said that, I think he set up the winner.

Generally a cracking start, can't really be too picky with that. We should have scored 4 of 5, and hit the woodwork twice... but i suspect it's more a case of crewe being utter TURD than us being amazing.

Basically what I said WW, we're not going to be out of the League if we play like that, Crewe were extremely shit.
