WSU, just below the seagull.
I heard a group as i was exiting towards the big clock in the corner, one bloke in his defence of McGhee was going MENTAL at them for saying those things, if only the rest of us fans could of got that passionate during the game.

Mind you after the performance we put in i don't think that any amount of encouragement would of helped them to achieve the result we longed for.

Bitterley disappointed with the display.

Just home from the game, having stopped off for food at my brothers on route and falling prey to two closed roads and spurious diversions on the way home that added at least 30 miles to my journey (where on earth is Henley in Arden?).

Have to say that was probably the worst Albion display I have seen for years, it was just not good, I won't blame any individual as I feel it would be unfair to single anyone out for particular attention. I have tried to remain optimistic and believed that if we could win today it would give us a chance and almost certainly condemn Crewe to relegation, a draw would have just prolonged the agony for both of us. However I thought that a defeat would condemn us to relegation and a false dawn and vain hope for Crewe.

Sorry folks but I now believe we are going down, it is down to blind dogs chance and miracles.

In the first half we were slightly the better of two poor teams, in the second half we made them look like Brazil. No pace (Jones was running past OGH and AEA at will) , no guile, no creativity, no leaders. Only CKR and Kerry ever looked like scoring.

We are asking a bunch of kids to do a mans job, and some of them are out of their depth at this stage of their careeers.

Bit of verbals in the Albion end when one fan screamed "thats it, I have f***ing had enough" and some others shouted him down.

Best part of the day was the chip shop outside the ground, which did an excellent curry sauce

El Pres sums it up pretty well. I was disappointed to hear someone abusing the players, but pleased that a few people shouted him down, especially after the discussions on here.

My highlight of the day was meeting the girlfriend of Wayne Henderson, and what a delightful young lady she is, sat with her parents right behind where me and my brother were sat. Also meeting up with some of the West Country Seagulls and being asked to join them, Gloucester is now officially part of the West Country, the Midlands don't begin till you get north of Kidderminster!

I saw the vision of loveliness that was Hendersons BINT as I was leaving, so cracked one off in the bogs at Gresty Road

We probably shaded the game up until our goal, which had a large element of fortune about it.

No don't understand that at all. Fine quick throw-in, excellent work by Gatting on the byline to expose the goalie with a perfectly flighted cross, simple finish for CKR. Don't realise where fortune comes into that at all.

......allowing their player plenty of time to tee up a superb shot into the top left hand corner.

Maybe this is the fortune you meant? The guy was clearly looking at the 3 Crewe players headed in a wave into the box, but he overhit the cross and it fluked into the top corner. For the first few moments, he didn't even celebrate it because he was as stunned as everyone else. Then he turned and gave a little mock celebration that told you all you needed to know about his intent.

It can't help having several players playing out of position

Like who? This happened less in this selection than probably at any other time in the season.

Overall, I agree with most of what you say apart from the above. We showed more drive and urgency than Crewe early on and deserved the lead. But Gradi has instilled the methodical passing virtues into his team well, and they stuck to their task and just outpassed us, the windy conditions affecting them far less. We did not have the technique and patience to hold the ball, and that allowed Crewe's passing style to overwhelm us.

Their goal was a fluke, and if that had not fluked in, it's entirely possible we may well have battled on and kept a clean sheet.

But a neutral would say the better team got their deserved slice of luck because of the overall quality of their play.

The fluke really hammered our confidence, and the knock-back probably led to the lack of concentration for the second. We did then fight hard for an equaliser, but weren't good enough to break Crewe down.

All in all, a massive disappointment, but you have to hand it a wily old fox like Gradi, his progressive beliefs have not served him well this season but they did today. You have to respect him, and you'd hope as a neutral that the Crewe board/fans will give him the chance next season to bring them back up again.

All good points. But they did manage to get the best out of players no matter what division we were in. MM doesn't seem to have done this

Obviously apart from the promotion at the first attempt and then becoming the first manager to keep us in the second tier since 1991. Not insignificant achievements really.

What a f***ing ridiculous thing to say. Was it MMs fault that after 65 minutes CKR decided not to bother anymore?

Was it MMs fault that Lynch slipped to give the guy the chance to hit their equaliser?

Was it MMs fault that Mayo slashed over the bar from 12 yards?

Was it MMs fault the queue for a coffee at half time was so long?

Of course you can blame the players [some of them anyway]. Don't be a prick.

:D Careful, you'll end up in his signature :lolol:

History we are concerned about NOW

I'm actually more concerned about the almost quarter of the season we have left

Today was a massive blow but McGhee will get the players to scrap for their lives. Not good enough today, but who knows with the next 10 games. Go to Plymouth and find out!
