You talking of 'standing up to terrorism'. That's a strange one. Marches are a visual representation of concern designed to create impact. A march against a potential conflict for example. Perhaps a call for greater rights for women.

Very few support terrorists except for the terrorists themselves. Terrorists also come in many guises- as we have seen in Las Vegas this week. Actually, it's a strange word altogether which has now become a bit political in its usage. A by word for state sponsored crackdowns on political dissidents. It's all a bit of a mess now.

I digress.

If most agree that terrorism (not just Islamic extremists) is wrong, and if we have very strict laws against this which even extends to showing mere interest, then what is such a march hoping to achieve ?

I don't see any weakening of opinion in both authority or civilian population.

To be fair to the LADS they did more than just stand together. They walked together (from one pub to another pub).

Every single march is political and picks and chooses its facts. Not many marches achieve anything at all these days. I just don't see why we slag off these people and act high and mighty while doing the exact thing they're accused of and label them all with the same tag.
