You're aware of the HATRED towards Andy Naylor on here, right? There are people waiting to see him trip up when something goes wrong? Or when he dares to voice an opinion about anything? Personally I don't get it.

I sympathise completely with him and understand that he's reporting info from the club, rather than rumours and gossip.

Well then we are singing from the same sheet,
Yes, I am aware that some of our number would like to see him XXXX up but why I don't know.
It is sad that some on here do not appreciate his position (as a journalist) and, that accordingly, he cannot necessarily state what 'we' would like him to say.

Why not? We have paid £14m our record, for an unknown and untried striker at this level which to me indicates that we will be giving it a go to stay up. Had we signed Giroud or similar that would have shown that we intended to be here next season,. Not so clear cut as you make out although I am pleased with the signing and the reports about him.

We wouldn’t sign a Giroud type striker; certainly not this season anyway. We are not in the position to spend big on transfer fees plus pay the £100k a week wages.

I am absolutely delighted that we have moved this one over the line because, after the shenanigans of the summer transfer window, especially with 'medical' problems and the Pritchard shambles, It rather restores the faith in the recruitment team.
As I posted somewhere earlier, 'armoured car with half a dozen of NSC's finest' I should have added 'whilst confiscating mobile phone' !!
It is unbelievable that 'such dirty tricks' feature in this business.

HIP HIP HOORAY !

I fully accept that but my point is that US went into raptures saying this showed our long term intent in this league and that is what I disagreed with I think it shows that we will give it a go this year to stay up, no more no less. Seems a good signing but not one to get over excited about at the moment, survival is our aim.

That is the whole point it is an indication that we will try to stay up: paying that kind of money for Giroud or similar would have shown what US is saying we intend to be here for a long time. I do not think that we could have bought Giroud or Ings or similar but was hoping for a possible loan.

There is no difference between the two statements I've highlighted. Once again you can't ever be wrong even though you've spouted nonsensical drivel.

And btw, you don't need to put a comma immediately before a full stop or are you going to post and tell us that it makes sense also?

Like most of NSC I've never 'eard of 'im.

Makes it more exciting really. Could be brilliant for us- could be a load of rubbish.

No opinion to offer. Just wish him a long and successful stay.

Since when did 'never 'eard of 'im' equal 'no opinion to offer' on here? At least make up a source who says he is rubbish or say you saw him on TV once.

I do not see it like that as I see it as we are going to try to stay in this league rather than signing a proven goalscorer at this level to make our statement.

I think it might be a bit more complicated than that. They don't grow on trees, and they have to want to come to us as well.

Having said that, it could still happen in he next few days. Who knows?
