Junior Football Rules Question

Mrs Coach

aka Jesus H. Woman
When you sign up for a Junior club - what date does that signing hold to? According to the Sussex FA Handbook, no further registrations OR transfer requests will be accepted past the end of February, so a player cant then sign for a club or transfer until August 2007 for the next season.

This question has been posed because we were asked if lil' coach could play for his friends team in July for a fun day tournament. Most of the tournaments ask which club you're registered to though - but if you cant do anything past end of Feb, does that make you a free agent once your league/friendly matches have been played? He doesnt want to sign for his friends club but he would like to play with his friends on this tournament day as his sunday matches wont start again until Sept.

Oh, my brain........:p

Having run a team from U8s and now they are U15s I really would not take the tournament rules too seriously.

When I have done entries you just write down registration numbers no-one looks at them.

i'd suggest he just plays under someone else's name, it'll be good practice for SUnday League when he grows up

I really would not worry as these tournaments are full of "ringers" or players clubs may potentially sign the following season.

I dont believe it, and I wont have it.
Just add yours and lil' coaches ages together and divide by two. There you go - experience and youth strikeforce with an av. age of 34. Just at the end of your careers!

OK, I'm up for that.

I'll play with my brain and he can play with all other body parts.

Sounds like a winning combination to me :clap2:

Now, where did I put those boots? I'm sure I put them away somewhere safe about 30 years ago.....

FUCKIN HELL! I'm startin to feel old now at 23, I can't remember the last time my boots saw any of that stuff, is it still used nowadays? From the look of 'modern' footy boots that i saw in Sports World the other day i guess not, they're all made of shitty PLASTIC now!

It wasn't like that in my day! :nono: :nono: :nono:

my son is a keeper, his new gloves were £60 (+£5 to have his name on!) but as he doesn't have to run too much he's not quite so fussy about expensive boots!
