He goes to a personal trainer - posts a lot of pics on his Instagram stories - and interesting to see Barco already going there with him.

Hang on.

Surely the club have, very well paid trainers, in contact with the club medical staff, to give them a tailored training regime. Why would they have individual ones?

I find this weird too. We know their schedule is hyper controlled, especially rest. Surprised they are allowed to do anything without a very close eye on them from the club. But clearly this will have been sanctioned for both players.

As @Shins said, Enciso is the one. When he gets a little bit of maturity about him in his head then he's going to be a superstar. I was absolutely gutted when he got that injury, honestly thought he was the piece of the jigsaw that would take us to the next level. Just got to take it easy with him, no huge expectations coming back from an injury like that, but what a player to get back for the next stage of the Europa League. Hopefully he can have some influence in the games.
Mad to think he hasn’t played a minute of European football for us, owing to how early in the season he got injured. Great to have him as another attacking option for Roma.

Seems to be the norm for some players.

Bissouma and Cucurella used to go to 'Ty Paul' when they were at Brighton (and Enciso has done stuff with him too, but seems to have found a new PT). Igor is always posting pictures from his home gym (often with some guy in the background), so assume he also has his own individual program alongside what he does at the club.

They all do their own fitness outside of what the club provides. Pervis & Igor are constantly training by themselves if you follow their social media accounts. So makes sense some of the younger lads would also do this, but with some guidance.

Most players have home gyms as well to do bits. Ben White used to train in his, with the door open when he was in Worthing. Not very subtle

I think it's positive that they do some (monitored professionally) home training. Given the spare afternoons they have, it's either that, crouch over FIFA on the PlayStation, El golf with Lallana and Milner, chat up the women's team, play online poker with Bloom, set up an NSC account (e.g. 'Not Julio Enciso'), have pasta with the boss(as per the rota) or get on Bet365...😬😬

It’s just specific, individualised programmes……..will 100% be either set or at least approved by the club and for particular reasons. Just surprised with the posting on SM given the club paranoia about it

It’s the norm these days for players to have their own personal trainers, training, diet and nutrition regimes. Sometimes this will contradict the club they play for and there are disagreements and a number of issues around it in the game generally.

Players are very much their own bosses these days though. It’s their career - they might only be at a club for one year whereas they need to look after their body for a 20 year career and if they trust their own training/trainer to look after them well individually, I totally understand it.

Not always 100% set or approved by clubs at all, Brighton no different to City, Arsenal, Southampton or any other clubs where this happens.

As I said above, it’s a little bit of an issue with some clubs and players in the game. Clubs are looking after their short term needs whereas players are individual brands these days and looking after their own long term career so there are regular disagreements.

Everton looked shit scared of him which is more than can be said of Adingra.
I'm amazed anyone could watch that game, and this be their take.

Adingra tired towards the end, and looked less effective back on his less favoured right - but on the left, in the first half especially, he was superb. Everton absolutely WERE 'shit scared' of him, and doubled up on him from about the fifth minute

On reflection, my judgment might have been way out after about 15 pints. I don’t even remember posting that comment :lolol:

Looking at him since he has come back from injury, does anyone else think he has bulked up a bit and looks physically stronger ?
Weirdly he even looks taller !
Agreed. He does look stronger and he may well have had a little growth spurt at his age but I think his overall bigger body shape gives that impression anyway.

I was really impressed with the way both him and Buonanotte competed physically last night. Was in contrast to Fati and Adingra.

A real boost seeing him back. The sort of player who is determined to make things happen. Reminds me of Knocky a little in that respect.
