Another very credible source says it’s happening soon!

Really? We sent the polish wonder kid straight to Belgium I would have assumed he was more ready for PL football. This has a classic 6 month loan abroad, followed by a season roughing it out in league 1 or the championship before a breakthrough season halfway through his contract
Ignore me I was totally wrong! Apparently he is staying with his current team until the end of the season.

Imagine moving to England from Paraguay at the age of 17, you’ve got to grow up quickly when you’re a footballer.

Exciting but you do have to wonder how some of our teenagers would do at that level. For him to make an impact here (given we are now a top ten Premier League side) he’d have to become one of the greatest players Paraguay has ever produced.

It’s not a massive risk - at around £6m at his stage at development , playing for Paraguay he must be around championship level even at 18. If he doesn’t progress further it’s unlikely the club will lose any money on him , however if he goes on to fully met his potential in a year or so , he would be worth a lot more than we paid for him !

Developing him and giving him game time in our first team will help his value skyrocket, I'd like to see a few more from the conveyor belt/production line getting first team action

Sanchez, Lamptey, Moder, MacAllister, Alzate, Sarmiento, Roberts, Ferguson.

Have I missed any?

It must be very difficult seeing all that poverty and squalor on a daily basis. It’s probably no better in Paraguay!

This player plus the polish guy we bought this window and loaned to Union are not
Just very talented 18yr olds they are at the very top end of elite in their whole country . We are signing some of the cream of talent , some of these young players at this level are likely to go in to become big big
players .

Hopefully we don't let him live in Lancing or Portslade

This is a good article about the transfer:

His dream is European football and he is even having english lessons in preparation but I do think he'll remain in Paraguay on loan for quite a bit longer.

In other news, it looks like our former teenage, left winger, south american target, Alan Velasco, is off to the US of A having been priced out of a move to the biggest league in the world last year:

I am in no way criticising the academy. I'm a huge advocate for the academy and the fabulous players it is producing, I would just like to see more minutes for such players. Potter has developed a formation that allows plenty of players with attacking potential to be involved in some fantastic play. The more this continues the better.

What we have seen from Alzate recently shows his quality and I've never seen a goalkeeper so young looks so composed as Sanchez. We recruit some exceptionally gifted players and I'm certain that most young players will see a clear and obvious route to the first team as a huge contributing factor in deciding which club to choose.

I think the quicker the first team get to 40 points it would be good to get some premier game time for some of the youngsters, ready for next season when the squad will look much younger but much stronger.
