Oh, and don't call him judas, he left because he wasn't happy with his new contract, and has gone on to better himself. One of the finest finishers this club ever had.

I disagree with that last statement. If he was one of the finest finishers the club has ever had then he would have scored 35+ in the season that we ripped league 1 apart.

How many strikers in this day and age, however good they are, score 35 plus goals in a season? Answer, very very few. I'll even go as far as to say that without his goals that season, we may not have been promoted as Champions.

Indeed. Wasn't one of the finest finishers. Was one of the best all round CFs though.

Not really bothered if he's a nice bloke. He now plays for Palace and was a key member of the Palace side that pipped us to promotion. That's enough for me to wish him failure on the pitch.

You must not have seen him at Withdean then. Finest finishers in the clubs history? He couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.
I lost count of the amount of times the whole south stand was pleading with him to shoot when he always wanted to walk it through defences.
Also we had to listen to him carping on about how homesick he was and how he couldn't settle and his bird didn't want to come south..blah blah.
When he went to Palace he carried on getting hatfuls of goals... 6 in his first season wasn't it?..then he suddenly discovers the joys of diving and starts his spot kick bonanza...the man walked out on us for ****ing Palace and now he's the new messiah? Nah.

Nope. For 3 seasons. Massive rewriting of history that Murray wasn't good in the first 2 seasons. He really was.
He scored at a rate of 1 in 2 in ALL 3 seasons with us. He was very, very good in every season with us. And "carping on"?! What on earth are you on about? The bloke HATES the media and would avoid the spotlight whenever he could!!

He was capable of the 22 goals he got in his 3rd season when he was playing previously, but hernia problems and his marriage break up did affect him. Deliberate handballs, red cards and his general demeanour didn't help him at the time.

I did see him at Withdean actually, almost every game. Admittedly perhaps saying 'one of the best finishers this club ever had' wasn't quite the best way of putting it, but he was, and is still a bloody good centre forward and l for one, was very sorry to see him go.
So my friend, l have to disagree.
Even with all of those problems he still managed a rate of 1 goal every 2 games in ALL 3 seasons with us. He was very, very good.
