Thats a shame the grass has been taken off the church field, looked a good place to sit in the sun with a couple of tinnies before the game. Will look a bit of an eyesore with everything else looking new and green.

They are trial trenching and also doing ecology surveys. It's Bennet's field as well, owned by two brothers.

It wont be a formality if they find ancient roman ruins, but often even if there's something there its just needs recording and taking away if it's nothing too significant.

but they have stripped every last bit of dirt off the chalk, that's some survey!

as the chalk has been there for a few million years, if there was anything interesting it has now gone!!

Someone at the stadium (not NJ, but he has taken pics for us and knows Mr Straw) reckons that the 'temporary' car park will become permanent.

Oh, and work started on Village Way today.
Drainage grills being installed at the moment.
The paths and road will have their top layers layed probably next week.

They have concrete cliffs like that in Hong Kong - drill holes in them and plant them with trailing plants.
Don't know what's happening with ours though - they look to be lacking in drainage

Drainage holes have been built into the cliff, but it will be hidden from view by massive pictures anyway.
