Most of the people on here saying they don’t want him are the same ones that said the same about Welbeck. I’m sure they would also have moaned about us taking a punt on Lingard like West Ham did and look how that turned out.

Indeed, I was not to keen on Welbeck either. Turned out fine. Doesnt mean its going to turn out fine every time.

I would take him but think his attitude is a bit suspect. Not a consummate pro like wellbz.

Funny how, over on Twatter, a LOT of people hadn't actually realised he'd SINGED for Everton, let alone been released!

I didn't actually know either*, but with his 137 minutes across 11 games, no goals or assists, he was fairly easy to miss...!

* or knew but had forgotten, more likely.

Loving how Welbz ever so slightly above adequate season has turned into justification for setting up a donkey sanctuary.

Very fair comment.

I admit I was one of those highly sceptical of Welbeck. And he’s been an incredible signing really.

I wasn't particularly excited or disappointed by Welbeck signing, but I think he's had a good season. He signed off the back of an "ok" season for a poor side and used this season to prove his form and fitness. With King, I've never been much of a fan. He's another one of those "Player I've heard of is available - Sign him up" Twitter campaigns, so we'll see how it goes.

I will 100% give any player my backing if they sign and pull on the stripes so if he does, I will support him like I do the rest of the team.

Ha. And those here who were insistent he’d be a good deal for £10m.

He is exactly the type of player that Brighton need up front. Someone with a bit of a physical presence instead of a couple of '' four foot zero '' forwards who are no good attacking free kicks and corners or who can't hold the ball up

He had 3 good-ish seasons not too long ago so does he count as a striker "proven" at premier league level? He is also over 6 foot so that ticks another box for those that like their men tall.

Can we do better? Will we do worse? Should I have started so early on the Friday beers? We may never know.

He's no Tammy Abraham but then again who is?

Would be a useful acquisition, offering a different point of attack. If his wages were reasonable I think we could do a lot worse so long as it was with another coming in too.
