Hi guys.
I’m a Bruges-fan since I was born, so I’d like to inform you about Izquierdo.

He came in Bruges a few years ago. 1 thing was clear immediately: he is really fast!
He is right-footed, but always played out on the left because his biggest quality is to come inside and shoot. He made a lot of goals like that. He’s kinda crazy, but in his case it’s just a positive thing. He will come inside and shoot the ball goes outside the stadium for 3 times in a row, but he will definitely try a 4th time and score a fantastic goal.
So in this way his crazyness makes him the player he is today.
A good coach can make him even better I think. As for now, he tries to come inside in 95% of the cases, to get in a shooting position.
Going on the left and give a good center can be even more dangerous in some cases.
As for me, that is something that a trainer should make him clear. In fact I really don’t know if Michel Preud’homme ever said this to him, but we didn’t see it on the pitch which made me disappointed sometimes.

Although he’s crazy his character is good. Never heard about problems with the trainer or so.

In Belgium he won the Golden Shoe (biggest individual award for footballers in Belgium) because he had a really good season 2015-2016, a season we’re Club Bruges finally took the title, in a big way thanking that to Izquierdo.
Last season he also did very well (unfortenately we ended in 2nd position).

So I would say that you did a good transfer.
But don’t judge him too fast. When he’s in a good form he will show amazing things.

Some good moments I will remember:

Goal in the Champions League against Leicester:

Fantastic solo against Kortrijk:

Goal against Gent. We won 1-4, Izquierdo was outstanding. The week after that game we took the title against big rival Anderlecht. Also then he was outstanding:

And here you see how crazy he is 

Sure.
What you have against his reporting i simply can't fathom
I think others have touched on it. For one he's had a go at fans unnecessarily in the past, IMO. I also find that he tries to take credit for exclusives which have already been widely discussed on here before he's mentioned anything. I feel that he tried to act like the important source of knowledge, when he's not. I don't think he's been getting much from the club, so I haven't had faith in the accuracy of his reporting either. That may have changed, he may have better sources now.

Tyronne simply pointed out that he's been beaten to this one. No big deal really, and he can't be first all the time, so I don't see why you felt the need to try and defend him with "Maybe, he's not going to jump the gun like others. (Permit, personals, medical) to be done it appears." - that makes no sense because it was reported here that we're in for him, but permit and medical to be done, and later he reported the same thing (although he said personals to be done, which seems to be incorrect). So it's clearly not the case that he was avoiding jumping the gun, he could have posted the same thing earlier if he knew.

He didn't, that's fine.

I think The_Viper will be quite pleased with this - he's mentioned Izquierdo on a couple of occasions recently.

Delighted. He's too good for us, expected to see him at Milan or Roma for example next year, not the Albion. I am very, very excited.

Oh and if you wonder about his ability to make it in the EPL, ask ex champions Leicester. My LCFC supporting mates reaction to him maybe lining up against them week 2 was simply "Oh ****"

Crazy to think that if we take the fee for this deal (assuming it goes through, of course) as somewhere around £15 million, we'll have increased our transfer record roughly 5-fold since May, when it was about £3 million for CMS.

Wasn't Duffy £4 million, but I take your point; I can't get my head round the sums we're spending now.

What a time to be a fan!

He was.

As you say though, the basic point stands - it's a bloody long way from £1000 and a set of kit, but let's hope we get the same level of value for money as we did with OGH over the years!
