The thing that gets my goat about this is that Fifa have been banging on about how wrong it is for English teams to be funded by multi billionaire middle eastern backers (with some valid argument) and then go and put one in as number 2 to the whole organistation. There has got to be a backlash against that shower sooner ot later, surely?

I think you are confusing FIFA with UEFA

If UEFA had any balls they would expand the European Championships and give special invites to the top 2 South American teams, and perhaps one each from Asia, Africa and CONCACAF, and then FIFA could stick the World Cup up their arse.

Why not test the water by setting up a facebook campaign,... get Blatter out or Save the Summer Finals...... I would but I am a facebook illiterate.

Trouble is Platini and Blatter are cut from the same cloth,.... in that they pander to whoever pays the most.

So has he replaced that nasty old corrupt bastard WARNER then? I can't understand why they'd let a great asset like him slip off quietly...

No. He's replaced Chung Mong-joon who was seen as anti-Blatter, Prince Ali is a close associate of Sepp, so he's strengthened his grip on the organisation. Lucky us.

They are saying that they are going to have games in other countries, surely this should have been part of the bid.....

They are saying that they are going to have games in other countries, surely this should have been part of the bid.....

Blatter, re hosting some of the games in Qatars neighbouring states:

"This demand has to come from the Qatar football organisation by saying we would like to have such and such things, and this has to go back to Fifa, and the Fifa executive committee has to say open it or don't open it," he said. "I can say all these countries are very happy. First of all, the World Cup is going to the Middle East and they are interested - I would say a little bit more than interested - to be part of this competition. It is a wish. It is easy to say but it is not so easy to realise. For the time being, it's too early."

So not only are they bumping the WC to January, causing MASSIVE disruption to domestic fooball calenders across the continent, they're also going to be inviting other Middle East countries to put in a bid to host some of the WC games - and with FIFA palms to grease, you can GUARANTEE that is EXACTLY what is going to happen here. Blatter alluding to it now is just preparing the way. Of course this couldn't be part of the actual bid, because its blatantly a f***ing shambles that would have been laughed out of town. But its clearly always been on the "back-burner", and FIFA would have been fully aware.

Bunch of grasping conmen, the lot of them.

Games in neighbouring states, that will be Saudi Arabia and if you stretch it a bit and head north over the water...Iran!

That would be a bundle of laughs...wouldn't it!

Qatar is anti-gay, so is Iran, where it is punishable with death by hanging!

Saudi, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi are the primary ones showing an interest in hosting games.

It WILL happen. Another grubby bidding process carve-up for FIFA to get their snouts into.
