The match report on their website includes this:-

Trialist, Maguire-Drew lashed- the ball in to the top corner after a delivery from Staunton out wide with around 15 minutes of play left.

A fan posted on their facebook page
That Maguire Drew looked quality

Hopefully it is a trial for a loan move, rather than a permanent move.

Is that normal to have a trial for a loan ??

It does happen. Last season Wolves' development squad left-back Ben O'Hanlon played for Crawley in a pre-season friendly against Burgess Hill with a view to a loan move, but Mark Yates did not pursue his interest and the lad had another trial with Kidderminster in pre-season before eventually joining Corby Town on loan in October.

If he is going for a (presumably season long) loan, I'd prefer him to go to a fourth division side rather than 5th. division. Though I'd like it even better if he were to be a development striker actually breaking trough to our first team.

Do the club see any potential there or it a case of another Jake Robinson or Shamir Fenelon.

Big difference is, both Jake and Shamir Fenelon got minutes for the first team, In Jake Robinson's case of course an awful lot of games, before they were both finally moved on.

Maguire-Drew of course has never donned a first team jersey, at least as yet.

I was thinking more the fans reaction as those 2 were the bees knees according to some supporters.

If he's going out on a season long loan then I'd rather he was playing every game for a conference team than sitting on the bench and getting 5-10 minutes here and there for a L2 team.

Or playing in a lower standard league like Worthing. The step up in class could make or break him for ,the future

Pretty sure nobody ever described Fenelon as "the bees knees", even if there have been reasonably high expectations of JFC.
