I like Prior but considering he was dropped for being pretty abject in Oz and hasn't really proved his fitness; how does he get in??.

I would give Buttler the gloves for all forms of cricket, give him the chance to become our Adam Gilchrist. I think most spectators would vote for that too.

Prior's FC average this season is 87, Buttler's is 43 ... and those about everyone agrees that Prior is by far the better keeper. Seems like a no-brainer to me

You can't take Priors average into any serious consideration considering he's had 4 knocks and one was not out.

He is a seriously lucky boy, he's had more than a blip his England record has been poor for more than a year and he was one of the main instigators in the pathetic, turgid brand of cricket we played last summer and into last winter.

It's not true to say that he'd a poor run of form - he was voted England cricketer of the year about this time last year. He did have a poor winter - but he wasn't alone in that. The feeling was that he always going to come back unless he had a poor run of form - which he hasn't - or a rival did something astounding - and neither Bairstow or Buttler has

He averaged 17.6 in 7 tests last summer against NZ and Australia. He then averaged 17.8 in 3 tests in Oz before he was finally dropped.

If that's not a poor run of form I am not quite sure what is.

He is playing 2nd XI cricket for Kent as cannot get in their Championship side.

There are no decent spinners playing in County Cricket at the moment, so we will have to play 4 seamers and 2 part-time spinners, much like Soth Africa.

Monty has it in him to be a decent spinner, but I suspect he played up off the pitch down under and the selectors have cut their loses.

In theory Rayner would have been next in line, but he has not done a lot this season.

If Borthwick wants to play test cricket he needs to leave Durham who are never going to have helpful pitches.

Not sure how Rashid is getting on at present.

Also, slightly left field, I would have liked to have seen Morgan in there.

Not sure he is quite up to test cricket as a player, but he seems to be the best option for captain or certainly for helping the slightly brain dead Cook with setting fields that might get wickets.

I'm not sure he should be allowed to captain either of the one-day teams, and i'm sure I could think of 10 middle-order batsmen i'd have ahead of him for the test team.

I think tactically he is more aware than most.

I have a real issue with Cook as Captain, however we are not blessed with options for somebody to take over from him at this stage.
