I have just thown names in the hat that may be a cheap option to overome the next 6 weeks prior to the big money signings in January as expressed on here.

Don't disagree with you at all and even knowing that we are prepared to splash the cash I still have an eye for bargains (with the proviso it would improve the squad) but you must have a very effective hard hat !
In fairness most of the early comment probably qualified as "banter" (a concept which I am old enough to have a great dislike of) but there seems to have been an element of nastiness crept in lately that would have had me ducking beneath the parapet by now

Wayne Bridge was on more but we didnt pay it all. If Sunderland want to sell him in the January window then it is ideal to loan him to us for him to show he can score goals and get some of his wages paid prior to an offer from a club in January.

It wasn't quite that. It was 'judge us when the transfer window closes', if memory serves me right. And it was an Argus headline, so it was in the past, so almost certainly a comment CH made in August, referring to the summer transfer window. But as a few have pointed out, there's been a lot of activity from [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION] of late related to transfers and, even more specifically, related to forward signing/s. Which is a good sign.

Think so. Think the transfer window apply to clubs within Europe, which is why the rumours are directed to South America; if not, the clubs and player can pre-agree ahead of the window, such that the deal is confirmed on its first day -- this happened with Memphis Depay in the summer, for instance.
