Sorry if I'm repeating what a million people have said already (I expect I am - apologies for not checking thread) but what still truly amazes me is that the club did not cash in on Dunk. All of the figures quoted above represent some pretty serious spending for a second tier team, and the fact we have turned down what I consider to be very substantial bids for one of our bigger assets points to a level of ambition that many have rightly questioned. It is really great to once again look forward to checking transfer news/fixtures, and it also feels good to have a level-headed leader in Hughton. BHAFC mojo definitely returning for me.

The only offer on the table was Fulham. The only draw for Dunk himself to go to Fulham was money and he probably looked at our decent start to the season and he thought he would get Premiership football.

From the clubs perspective. We need at least 4 decent centre backs if we want to challenge for promotion but I agree, I would have sold him and spent the money on a really prolific striker but who knows. maybe we are going to do both. Keep Dunk and bring in another striker

It's not that, as well you know!!

Just that the club isn't in a position to speculatively wee-wee millions up against the wall, without thinking it can cover all the bases.

I was joking, and would have put a laughing smiley face thing after it, but I'm on a crap phone with a crap signal

Sorry

So to sum up, we are in for Salleri, Manu, maybe Byrne, Vdyra just covering all bases. This window is turning out to be one of the most entertaining ever.Slow burning to start and hopefully a fantastic flair ending.

I think there's almost certainly a degree of truth in this too.

I'd imagine he wanted to wait to see what the first few 'punishments' would be like. Now he's seen that they were pretty paltry, he's probably feeling more comfortable loosening the purse strings.

I disagree. We have the Ulloa, Buckley, Barnes, Bridcutt fees and bonuses and the FFP rules have relaxed to 13m from 5m. The club would not break FFP considering their stance on it.

Well I'm an excited old bar steward:flameboun, not because Jonathon looks totally brilliant. But I am, after the last couple of seasons misery now convinced that the Club is committed to promotion this season.

The people who are saying they hadnt heard of him no doubt are the same people who hadnt heard of Vicente.

He is a huge star in Argentina, Maradona loves the kid although to be fair anyone who plays for Boca gets his seal of approval and he currently plays alongside Carlos Tevez.

Yes its a lot of Money but sadly that is modern day football for you. As Stat Brother already mentioned, if he doesnt fire us to the premier league but is a decent striker we will make our money back and sum.

The fact he is Tevez's strike partner says it all really.
