I don't know much about McGhee's thinking, but I am fairly certain that pleasing the fans in the week before the season starts isn't his highest priority.HampshireSeagulls said:What!
What's the f***ing point of dragging people out to support the team when MM is putting out "fringe players".
HampshireSeagulls said:OK, even if he is not pleasing the fans, I can't see the point of putting out a reserve team. Even if Hastings are not going to provide a huge challenge, it's still an opportunity to test 11 players against opposition that they don't play week in and week out on the training pitch, and to juggle tactics and formations.
This is not a testimonial, not a comedy match, and not a match where I would have thought that a second/third rate team would be put out - as a pre-season friendly, it should have some value for the club, the manager and the players.

Nothing wrong with that line-up for a game against Hastings United.
