I think this has gone on for long enough, now.

Just because a joke isn't factually correct, or it relies on out dated stereotypes, perhaps it picks on an impediment, disability, or skin/hair colour, or as in this case just isn't funny.

Does that make it any less of a joke?
Does it deserve this kind of treatment?

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Thank goodness you're not a mod, otherwise the op would be banned.

There is the possibility that he threw them up on the shelf.

Why a butcher would do such a thing is rather strange. The Health and Safety aspect has already been pointed out and throwing them up to a shelf that he cannot normally reach would surely mean that there could be all manner of dust etc. up there.

Surely this is the only logic question we should be asking. He somehow got it up there yet can't get it down. I call bullshit from the OP.

Butchers have historically been pictured as vibrant and healthy fellows, due to their access to plenty of nutritious meat. It seems very possible that a butcher could also be quite a sporty fellow, perhaps a bit agricultural with the bat but a decent 1st change quick. He could simply have lofted it onto the shelf with a jaunty underhand flick, it nestling onto the shelf with nary a rustle and the watching ladies blushing beneath their bonnets at this jaunty display of his masculinity.
