I actually don't have a problem with this. Compared to some of the other rail operators I think Southern are pretty good - I rarely have problems and use the trains regularly

Apart from the fact that their CEO doesn't give a fetid dingo's kidney about the passengers.

I've had a few claims where they've been in breach of their passenger's charter (don't make me laugh) waved away with a cheery 'Get Stuffed' style response.

Can't stand them.

I agree,Southern aren't too bad and take it from me I spend 400 a month with them so you'd think I'd be pissed off.Clean trains, good information especially via twitter now if any problems, this year has been probably the bet year so far although this week has been bad but not really their fault-a suicide, signal fault which is down to National Rail I think and today a line fire.

Compared to first capital connect 4 years ago which I used to do daily,it's a class above-that really was poor

Agreed, southern are ok, its FCC who's management I'd like to see slowly tortured to death (joke !) especially as the 5.59 from haywards heath , which until recently was the 6.01 has been roughly 13 minutes later than normal for the past two days , it now leaves two minutes earlier and arrives 13 minutes later, only in FCC world.

The main problem Southern have, really, is that if there's any issue closing the line between East Croydon and Preston Park, they have no other easy way of getting us to work or home again, so every outage is absolute chaos. I agree that numerically you could probably call them pretty good, but when there are issues, they are always majorly stressful.

I think Southern do an ok job. Have been commuting for 15 years up to the smoke and prices aside, it's the best it has ever been. They can't do much more to improve without significant overhaul.

FCC on the other hand are a joke. Crap trains and made up information. FCC trains just turn up on odd occasions. Their best rolling stock is actually on hire from Southern. And these are the guys whose parent company was going to get the West Coast over Branson.

Its a pointless award given all rail services are appalling now. You could start this thread whoever won it.

PS. I love the Souther Rail advert at the bottom of the thread. Nice tough.
