[Politics] Johnson resigns from parliament

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Some mainstream media commentators tonight are speculating that Boris has thrown in the towel to protect the myth.

I can assure you that some of us supporters above (like wankwonderer) have seen beneath the towel and there is no myth. He's sent me the photos.

For those worried about a hung parliament....
...there is absolutely nothing there.

He really is a piece of work

Single handedly fecked our country over

And now, when he is forced out, he wants to take them all down with him

He appointed Sue Gray - but it’s now all her fault
And trying to take Sunak down with him

A few hours after he gets some cronies into the Lords and gets the King to doff a few others

The biggest piece of shit ever to govern this ex wonderful country of ours

I hope he rots in hell
He didn't do it single handedly, he was ably and fully assisted by the rest of the Tory party over the last 10 or so years, the right wing press and all those that voted for them.

Will they learn?

Nope

You may be right. You may be wrong. We shall never know.

@zefarelly thinks Starmer is 'pathetic' so perhaps it will be another five years of glorious conservative rule.

I think Starmer has a funny voice, and sounds like a slightly peevish physics teacher so, in this modern world of looks before substance, this means his rubbish policies (that he has failed yet again to announce) will be the ruin of labour and their so-called equality and socialism. Boo. Booo!

If only we had PR (partial representation) that would mean every voter gets a fair outcome, but stinky Starmer won't support this. Boo. BOOOO!
I never said he's pathetic, Far from it. I don't think he's Prime minister material though. Not that he couldnt do the job, I just don't think he'll get there!

To 'win' you need a duo at least, with a back up team . . Blair/Brown and Campbell type stuff.

its an auld school network and old money helps. . . .

I'd happily help drown them all. It would solve a LOT of problems

Not a good day for blonde, funny haired, egotistical former world leaders who were more interested in HAVING the top job than actually DOING the top job.

But, of course, it wasn't their fault and they've done NOTHING wrong.

OK mates 🤡

Tosser.

BBC News - Resignation statement in full as Boris Johnson steps down
That's one of the funniest pieces of comedy I have every read.

Everybody knows that I have never knowingly told a lie
I fully co-operated with the inquiry, because I expected to be rightly exonerated
I have given the best years of my life in service to my country
And now, 'judged' by members of the Labour party, hiding in plain sight as members of this kangaroo court
I shall jump before I'm put in jail
But hasta la vista, babies, I'll be back!

Sorry, I stand corrected.

You said labour are pathetic. "My guess is, with Labour being so pathetic, and Greens and yellow votes growing, it will...."

I find it disappointing that you find labour pathetic, but it is what it is.

His work is done, whatever tthat was. Thankfully he is no Donald Trump, and thankfully he wasn't another Thatcher either.

Parody account I believe
No. it is JCFG rebooted. He's been outed by moderators.

I'm glad you think it is a parody account though. That made me titter. Oh, to become so hopeless one appears to be a parody of one's self.

I just hope that when I start getting a bit slow in the old mind tank I have sufficient wit to give up trying to be a player and settle for good old spectatorship.

What him and his cronies have done to this country, to willingly damage it it for their own benefit, they should be charged with treason.

f***ing Tories and the vile media spreading their lies and the thick lapping it up to the detriment of themselves.

It's astonishing that we've 'progressed' from a liar, cheat and charlatan...to a lettuce....and to a fraud like Sunak, in such as short space of time, yet there are still people that would vote this lot in, again.
There must be something in the water, 'cause folk aren't really that mad.....are they?

The inquiry that had a tory majority!

His spin is quite amazing, but his acolytes will suck it up.
Even I was taken in.

The safest strategy appears to be to accept that even though the odd clause, taken in isolation may be true, the whole will be a lie.

Johnson Thesaurus:

"I was taking notes this afternoon, while I was not hanging out of the back of your mum, that my time as prime minister was extraordinary",

which translates simply as

"this afternoon I was hanging out of the back of your mum, musing without notes, as one does when having established a steady rhythm, that I was an extraordinarily shit prime minister".

People are still not convinced by Starmer, though, and Labour are pathetic (etc., etc.,).....no policies....cap in hand to the IMF....whatabout Jeremy Corbyn....

And simply, what is the proof that Labour would be any better?

It is like someone who has been locked in a sex dungeon for years, who gets an chance to escape after the Beast accidentally leaves the dungeon doors open, musing "but whatabout the outside, though? What's the proof it would be any better than this? I'm not convinced."

Sadly, you lost me at wanting to escape from a sex dungeon. I mean...really?? :)
