Are we due any more announcements before Christmas? Wasn’t the 23rd mentioned?

Perceived only by me it seems.

As I said I may be wrong and will be pleased to apologise if so, but I suspect there is a mass of confirmation bias operating here. And I say that as a frequent sucker for said.

That’s why I used perceived….as you very obviously know (and you may be right re confirmation bias)…….I also may be wrong but just calling as I see it.

In the virtual pub it’s the ‘ok mate, have a good evening’ point. No drama and no need to apologise

We really need to give so much credit to the scientists behind the scene who have got us through this pandemic, and continue to. Unsung heroes of the highest order.

The timing of this sudden booster campaign was completely intentional, and it has occurred now purely through the advice of our scientists. Have no doubt it was planned with or without the omicron variant.

That’s right, because the effectiveness of vaccines wane over time.

There was no secrecy about that, openly publicised by scientists and public health officials.

The emergence of Omicron has just upped the ante, to get the populace triple vaccinated, helping to prevent hospitals here and overseas from being overwhelmed.

Good spot.

I seem to recall there was a 'for at least/no more than three weeks' announcement a couple of weeks back. Packing up early to avoid another PMQ might scupper that.

Isn't there some sort of limit to the number of times one person can be given the benefit of the doubt?

There is. But HWT is a good guy. And I see Mustafa has been binned off the thread anyway.

I am registered in Shoreham and my nearest booster jab is Churchill Square that is stupid.

The sooner we get more volunteers and open up the places that can give boosters the better.

We are registered at Lime Tree Surgery, here in Worthing.

I got my booster through the Surgery 2 weeks ago, at Durrington Health centre just down the road from us having booked via the 0333 number that covers Chichester, LA and Worthing.

My wife however got a text from the Surgery yesterday advising that they were running booster drop in sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

She went down there today, and after a half an hour queue got her booster (Pfizer on top of her 2x Moderna).

What was most interesting, and is pertinent to what had been discussed on here was that whilst she was waiting inside, 2 people of a similar age to her, late 40s to early 50s came in asking if they could have their 1st ever dose, which is great news. Great to see 2 people who somehow missed out originally finally getting a vaccination.

Hopefully this push might encourage more reticent people to come forward.

Also, is like to compliment Lime Tree for being on top of the booster programme in Worthing, with queues both days at the centre.

In a couple of months Rona mutates again and renders three boosters useless then what ??? We spend a life time injecting good knows what into our bodies? No deaths from Omicron ridiculous.

Agreed, I’ll not be having any more, I had the first 2 as it seemed the right thing to do so we could lead a normal life, I had the 3rd one despite my better judgment, but I’ll certainly not have any more, it just doesn’t sit comfortably with me, the coercion to have the jab to lead a normal life which then gets ramped up to another then another.

I’ve seen this from many doctors on Twitter, last night and this morning.

Boris Johnson has given GPs twelve hours' notice that they need to vaccinate a million people a day from Monday morning.

As far as I can see, there are no more resources, just a declaration to make him look good, talk about vaccines, deflect from last December, and another excuse to blame the NHS when they can’t achieve his glorious claims.

As a point of interest when has he “blamed” the NHS for anything? I hope your dislike isn’t influencing you to make things up. There are plenty of other sticks to justifiably beat him with but is this one of them?

I didn’t want the third only had it as my wife has heart issues. I’ve felt really rough ever since and that was a week ago was perfectly fine until the last lot went in.
