It's all so unimportant and irrelevant right now. Leave the bloke alone. The only important thing is to get this enquiry finished so that we don't make the same stupid mistakes again - for example lockdowns, face masks, social distancing.
Firstly, as already pointed out, you’re probably getting your enquiries mixed up.

secondly, he’s continuing to make such a fuss, the last thing he wants to be is left alone. He has a need to be the centre of attention.

thirdly, his performance and behaviour as a Prime Minister has been so disgusting, he deserves to be clobbered from all sides until Kingdom come, and unless that happens he will think everything is ok and the time is ripe for his comeback…..God forbid.

He shows his continuous disregard of the rules by not wearing a seatbelt when driving.
We all know you have to but he doesn´t give a toss.
Arrogant dick.

Btw, How was he able to get hold of the report a week early and thus being able to weasel his way out by resigning?
It was part of the arrangement that he should be given sight of the outcome before it was published. And it was a few days, not a week.

However perhaps it was hoped he would respond like a man rather than a weasel. Once again hope triumphing over expectation.

He's taken the p1ss but this was an obvious witch-hunt from day one.

Don't care where he ends up, I've moved on.

Good to know. Life’s too short to shill for those fools.

Disagree on the ‘witch-hunt’ rhetoric though. It’s actually quite important for a democracy that its leaders do not mislead the only people who can hold them to account on a regular basis. Us pleb voters only get a say in it once every 5 years.

An ex-PM. It is a reminder that -- however difficult it is to understand the UK's constitutional arrangements are -- we live in a parliamentary democracy and, of those two terms, it's the latter that's more questionable.
Are you suggesting that the process was 'undemocratic' ?

The enquiry comprised of 4 out of 7 tory MPs, democratically elected by the House to investigate.

They provided their recommendations as to the punishment - which would have gone to the house to vote on (a large tory majority). Had those recommendations been ratified, he would still have had the opportunity to go to a by-election to save his seat. A vote from the public.

HE chose to run away from all this by resigning in a fit of pique. So what has been undemocratic ?

Obvious witch-hunt?
or the evidence against him was so overwhelming that the outcome was fairly inevitable!
he and others in Downing Street and Chequers were doing things blatantly that other people were being prosecuted for, working on the basis that the rules don’t apply to him.
It‘s not a popular look.

Even if you think it was a witch hunt surely upholding the integrity of our parliamentary democracy is far more important than 1 politician, maybe they made an example of him but never before has a PM openly lied in parliament continually like he did. Now the bar has been set, if you mislead parliament or lie and don't correct the record, expect to be given the boot. He always thinks the rules don't apply to him and today he got a harsh lesson to the contrary
